                                   Equine Horse Original Fine Art

Horse History:
My paintings are a tribute to the horse and it's incredible journey through history.  Our history was made on the back of a horse.    Horses were a part of every battle.   During World War II the US retained a single cavalry regiment.    A hundred years ago the horse was an important part of the everyday lives of our grand parents and great grand parents.   In many states time has stood still and many farmers still use their horses for plowing and transportation just like our ancestors did centuries ago.   The horse performed many functions:  transportation, plowing, hauling, mail delivery, freight delivery, pleasure rides, entertainment, etc.

For the love of a horse:
I'm an advanced photographer who travels all over Oregon, Washington and California to get my subject matter.  My camera is a big part of my creative process.    I carry my camera with me just about everywhere I go and when I get the opportunity to visit a farm or ranch I wait for the perfect moment when the horse is in action and is expressing power, energy and the spirit of it's soul.   I spend hours of interaction and observation with the horses I paint.
When I see a running horse I stop with wonder.  To me it is a beautiful and magical thing.   It has always amazed me that the small size of their legs can carry their bodies where ever they need to go.   To me a horse represents beauty, grace, strength, spirit and freedom.

                                                    What is a Giclee?
Giclee (pronounced Zhee-Klay) is a french word for spray or spurt of liquid and is a term used to define a reproduction of art using digital media.   Giclee was developed in the 1990's.  It is museum quality printing done on canvas, fine art and archival photo based paper with archival ink.   Giclee prints are images produced from high resolution digital scans.   Prints will last longer and have truer color accuracy than the older printmaking methods.  All prints over 8 x 10" size will be signed and numbered by the artist.   Giclee prints by special order.  1-541-673-6685.
